From the earliest days of Hummel, two wooden bookends, 61A and 61B. One is a young boy with 3 bunnies, and the other a girl with 4 chicks. Marked on side of wood M. J. Hummel and with the full bee mark, and the word Germany on one set. The second set has the full bee and the signature M.J. Hummel. This mark was used from 1940-56. The figurines have no bases. PLEASE READ the condition of each set. Thank You!

There are two sets being offered. I purchased the sets at an estate auction of a retired nurse, ninty-years old, still up and about moving around faster than this senior. Her three adult children were at the home the day of the estate sale. They shared with me how they would sneak the bookends off the shelf just to look at them close up. And how one bookend of the boy with the rabbit dropped accidentally out of the hands of the sister and the tip of his feather and hat broke. They didn't tell the mother fear of being spanked. It took a year before the mother discovered the damage and they all were punished because no one gave up the baby sisters.

Size: 6 1/4" high x 4 3/4" wide x 4 1/2" deep. The figures are 4 1/2" high.

Condition: SET ONE: There is wood damage to the base of the boy with rabbit. No ceramic damage, no damage to the base of the girl with chicks, or the figurine. Please view pictures

SET TWO:
The hat of the boy with the rabbit has a chip on the rim of his hat and a broken feather on his hat. There is also some paint loss on the ear of one of the rabbit. In the right hands, the boy's hat damage can be repaired. No other damage noted. No damage to the chick girl wooden base or figurine. Please view the pictures, I feel the set is still worth repairing and saving a bit of history.

RETURNS And Cancellations
We do not accept returns or cancellations. If you have an issue with your purchase, please message LynnandGail. The response is usually within one to two hours. If, for some reason, we have reached an agreement to return an item, at no fault of LynnandGail, the buyer is responsible for paying the return shipping cost. The item must arrive in the condition received.If the item is damaged in transit, the buyer is responsible for filing a claim with the carrier, and no refund from LynnandGail is forthcoming.

Item Arrived Damaged:

If your purchase arrived damaged, please notify us within two days of receipt. We will assist you in filing a claim. You must submit;
1. pictures of the damaged item
2. Pictures of the box, fragile label, photos showing any damage to the container, and if there is an inside shipping box, photograph the inside shipping box as well
3. All wrapping
4. Once a claim is filed on your behalf, you will receive a claim number from the carrier via Lynnandgail. Take all wrapping paper, extra boxing, etc., along with the outside box and content to the carrier (USPS)., etc. The courier will give you a receipt, photograph the receipt, and forward a copy to LynnandGail. No resolution will be made until LynnandGail receive confirmation the item has been dropped off with the carrier. ( The buyer is responsible for helping file a claim).
